My Second DesignBecause of the theme of the magazine I made the back ground back and white because it symbolises great moments and epic moments. I made the font colour black and red because it will stand out away from the background and also I feel that it will attract read to look at the magazine. The font I used the font call ‘fat’ because i felt that is a good design that will appeal to my target market but however still formal. I added the blur effect to make the image look like is moving.The first image show the first design I made, it was all in black and white so it made it hard to read the text so I change the text to red and black so is easier to read. Then in the second image it shows how I edited the work. I added the blur effect to it then I added different articles on the side. The final image is the final design that I will use.

First Design

My first design I made was in colour with black and red font colour. I added the Gaussian blur effect to add a different view to the image. I feel this will make the image different to other magazines that don’t have any effect on their cover. I may develop the image to get a different image and a different view. I may add the magazine information to the image or change the image.

The image I chose was taking in Bishop Douglass football pitch. I feel that the image taking shows a great moment taking place. The boy is trying to score a goal but the other team is trying to stop him. This great ‘School Moment’ was a great image to use for my cover. I will go on to Photoshop to edit the image to get the final image.

First Daft

This is my First Front cover for my magazine School Moments based on school life and school members. I made the main colour of the magazine black white and grey back is symbolizes the past and great moments, also is shows the great memories left in school. The font colour is black and red to stand out from the back ground and makes is easy to read. Also the font design is based on the fact that is a kid’s magazine so it will appeal to them.

Target Market/Typical Reader

Target Market/Typical Reader

This magazine is meant to appeal to all school children that attend Bishop Douglass. Because the magazine is free there is a wider target market however the magazine must have enough information to keep all ages satisfied. My main aim is to make a magazine that will appeal to all students. I feel that I can have enough information to attract all Bishop Douglass students.  I feel to do this I must have all ranges of information for all ages such as news about 6  form life and also life as a new year 7. However I do want teacher’s o pick up the magazine so I must have something that appeals to them.

A typical reader of this magazine is children aged 12-18 who are living the typical school life. They must be a student that is into going out with friend but however still finds time to do school work. A typical reader must also be into sports and other out of school activates much as music.

I made a basic temple of how I wanted my magazine to look like. I want the title of the magazine to be in the middle of it so the reader sees it straight away. I want the image to be the background of the font cover so u can see all of it .also I want the articles to be spread around the magazine so the reader must look at the whole font cover to see each article.

School Moments

The title I chose was School Moments, this is because I feel is will appeal to all ages and also make is easy for the reader to understand want the magazine it about without reading. I feel that the word Moments makes people how valuable this magazine is and how useful the content of the magazine is. I also feel that the title of the magazine will help attract people to read the magazine.

Vibe Magazine

The Vibe Magazine use the original magazine font and the original layout, this is so buyers know what the magazine is about. The mid close up of rapper Lil Wayne crouching on the throne shows that he is king of rap. Also the writing on the outside is in gold showing the royal theme of that month magazine. The colours used are to stand out from the back ground so is easier to read and understand. Also the size of the ext is readable but also eye catching.
